What is the probability that lineage grandchild will inherit illness from ancestor?

There are about 20,000 protein-coding genes in humans.

If Parent One has a genetical illness and Parent One passes 1/2 of the genes to Child and then that child 1/4 to his/her child then 1/8 then 1/16 then what is the probability that the great great great grandchild will inherit the illness from his first ancestral parent who had the illness?

    Is it 1/16?

From what you just said, the probability the child has the gene (not necessarily the illness) is 1/2, that a grandchild has it is 1/4, that a great grand child has it is 1/8, and that a great-great grandchild has it is 1/16. The probability that a great-great-great grandchild has it is another 1/2: (1/2)(1/16)= 1/32.
