    EXAM Tomorrow! Help with recurrence relationships.

    I hope it isn't against the rules but here is a link to another math forum I posted my problem in. I would copy and paste but it wouldn't be readable because of the code used to type it.

    for your first question, 2^{n-1} \, 2^2 = 2^{n-1+2} = 2^{n+1}

    for the second one, they just expanded the summation where c = 2.
