Convert boolean expression into SOP and POS algebraically
Question:

Convert the following boolean expression into SOP and POS canonical forms using boolean algebra method.
$(ac + b)(a + \overline{b}c) + ac$

Attempt at solution:

$(ac + b)(a + \overline{b}c) + ac$

1. $(a + b)(c + b)(a + \overline{b})(a + c) + ac$
2. ??
3. ??

That's as far as I got. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next. Help appreciated. Thank you.

SOP = sum of products
POS = product of sums

Hint: Can you reduce (a + c) + ac to simply (a + c) [Check the truth table for verification]?
