    Stuck on Venn Diagram Problem

    Can someone please break down how to do this one? I'm absolutely stumped on this one. Thank you very much.

    Use the following sets to complete the operations.
    Universal set = {lower case English letters; a,b,c,d…x,y,z}
    V = {a,e,i,o,u}
    S = {letters in the word “spring”}
    G = {letters in the word “garden”}

    Find the following sets.

    a. G’ ∩ V
    b. (G ∩ V) ∩ { }
    c. (G ∪ V ∪ S)

    Re: Stuck on Venn Diagram Problem

    I take it G' is the complement of G? This means everything that is not in G.

    So a) is the intersection of G' and V, which means everything that is both in G' and V.

    For b), {} is the empty set, which contains no elements.

    c) is the union of the sets which means all elements which are in either G or V or S or in more than one of these sets.
