    A simple set problem.

    I'm not sure if I did this one right. Here is the given information..

    universe be the set U = {1,2,3...,10}
    A = {1,4,7,10}
    B = {1,2,3,4,5}
    C = {2,4,6,8}

    The particular question asks for:

    (complement of A intersect B) U C

    That "U" is union.

    So this is what I did..

    If A intersect B is {1,4}, would the complement of A intersect B be {2,3,5,6,7,8,9,10}?

    I assumed so so I ended up with:

    {2,3,5,6,7,8,9,10} U C

    = {2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10}

    Is this correct? If it is wrong I assume I didn't get the correct complement of A intersect B :S

    This is correct if the problem asked for (complement of (A intersect B)) U C and not ((complement of A) intersect B) U C.

    Re: A simple set problem.

    Otherwise:

    ((complement of A) intersect B) U C

    Complement of A = {2,3,5,6,8,9}

    {2,3,5,6,8,9} [intersect] {1,2,3,4,5} = {2,3,5}

    {2,3,5} U {2,4,6,8} = {2,3,4,5,6,8}
