    Arrangements of letters.

The letters of the word DEPOSITOR are to be arranged in a row. Find the number of arrangements if:
    a) the 'word' starts and ends with a constant
    b) the vowels occupy the even places

There are nine letters, four vowels two of which repeat.
For part a). We have five choices to begin with then four choices to end with.
There are seven between them, but two repeat.

For part b). There are four vowels and four even positions. (Dont forget two repeats.)

Now you reply with an answer.
