Thread: Circular Permutation question

I have been working on this homework question for about 3 hours and still cannot get it.

Suppose 11 people want to sit at a ciruclar table. A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K, How many ways can all of them sit around the circular table if E MUST sit Immeduately to the right (next to and on the right side) of A.

By fixing A and E, we are no longer dealing with circular permutations but instead linear permutations (the regular kind).

Write

A E _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

And fill in the blanks using permutations.
