what is the maximum number of triangles that could be formed if the vertices were to be chosen from a set of seven points?

is this 7C3 = triangles?

I believe this is correct, with the caveat that among the seven points we can't have any three points collinear, unless we are counting degenerate triangles (that is, line segments) as triangles.

3. so would 7C3 be correct? 35 possible triangles?

Haha, it seems that the "I believe" in my post is casting doubt on my credibility. Well, do you think it's the correct answer? At some point you should develop confidence that you have correct answers without needing to ask for confirmation.
