Please could you solve this summation?

what is the sum from n=0 to infinity of (1/3)^n ?

This is a typical example of a geometric series:

$\sum_{k=0}^{\infty}(1/3)^k = \frac{1}{1-\frac{1}{3}}= \frac{3}{2}$
