    Showing well defined

    show a/b=c/d is well defined.

    a/b=a'/b' so ab'=a'b is my first step

    Not sure about that. Without further qualification a/b=c/d is not well defined on R. If b=0 or d=0 the equation is not well defined. But it should be a function that is well defined or not. So you should first be defining a function on R or N or Z.
