Singularity in Maple
I'm in need to remove a singularity in a function in Maple. I've got the function 1/abs(x), that goes to minus infinity for x>0 from both sides. I would like to define y=7 in the interval x=[0.143,0.143], enabling me to "chop off" the tip. Anyone knows how this is to be done?

Well, I'm not a Maple expert, but you could certainly define your function with piecewise like this:
y:=piecewise(x > 0.143 and x < 0.143, 7, 1/abs(x));
which should give you this when "plotted":
