    Bit String Operations

I am on my first lesson in Discrete Math, and I do not understand the bit string operations. The problem is:
    (1011 1010 V 0101 0101) ^ (0110 0110 V 0101 0101)

Any help in how to go about solving this would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

Is V bitwise OR and ^ bitwise AND? Try to find the definition of every concept involved in this problem. What is V? How does it work on one bit? How does it work on a string of bits?

To ask for definitions of concepts does not mean that you can't solve the problem on your own. In fact, it is silly to attempt to solve or prove something without understanding exactly what the problem statement is.
