    Question simply or multiply connected ?

    Is the given region simply connected or multiply connected ? Please explain your decission.

    Simply connected, because it has no holes in it! If you take two arbitrary paths from a point a to different point b then you can find a set of paths that fills in the gap - you can drag one path into the position of the other path. There is nothing there to stop you - there are no holes!
