The attached question is: Use induction to prove that

$\frac{1}{n} \sum_{i = 1}^n x_i \geq \left( \prod_{i = 1}^n x_i \right)^{1/n}$

for positive integers $n$ and real numbers $x_i$.

I understand the proof for n=2^k, for k = 0,1,2,...that is for n = 1,2,4,8,...
But then how does one proceed to prove for n = 0,1,2,...
