    Exclamation Generating function (with gaps)

    Find the generating function for:
    0,0,1,0,2,0,3,0,4,...

How do I create these 'gaps' where the zeros are?

Find the generating function for 0,1,2,3,4,... (without the 'gaps'), and then replace the variable by its square. In that way, all the odd powers of the variable will have coefficient zero.
