I'm taking a course in algebraic topology, and am a bit stuck on problems that look like they should be comparably easy.
For example, to show that the homomorphisms on Cech homology induced by the identity on a compact space X are all identity maps.
I guess where I'm stuck is that I'm not sure what the induced homomorphisms on Cech homology look like/what they do to an element of the homology group.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
