    limits and continuity

    what is the difference btw limits and say continuity at a point c. they seem to be very closely linked but i cant really tell what they are similar and different in..

    Consider the function f(x)=\dfrac{x^2-4}{x-2}, \text{ if }x\not= 2~\&~=0\text{ if }x=2.

    That function has a limit at x=2 but is not continuous there.
