I like Crossley's Essential Topology, what I've read of it so far. Munkres is the standard, however.
I've graduated and will take the next year off, though I've always wanted to be a little proficient in topology, so I'd like to do a self-study for the next year. Which text would you recommend for this? I've heard that Munkres is the standard text, though I fear that I may need something that doesn't demand that the reader make very large intellectual leaps since I won't have the assistance of a professor and I'm a little slow in the head.
