Math Help - exponent error question

    exponent error question

    i need to calculate e^{-0.5}

    why the solution develops e^{-x} and puts 0.5
    and not e^{+x} and putting -0.5
    ?

    Dear transgalactic,

    1) You should know that, a^{-x}=\frac{1}{a^x}

    2) a^{0.5}=a^{\frac{1}{2}}=\sqrt{a}

    3) Also, e\approx{2.7182818284591}

    developing in taylor series
    but in the first we have libnits series and on the other not
    so its not the same

    why they are not the same?
