# Thread: Distribution question

1. ## Distribution question

i got the following question from Generalized functions:
if F(x)= n, x>1/n
what is the limit of the Fn(x),n->inf, @ dimention D'
thanks in advance,

I have no idea what this is...but if I had to guess you're asking

"If $f_n(x)=\begin{cases} n & \mbox{if}\quad x>n\\ 1 & \mbox{if} \quad n\leqslant x\end{cases}$. What is $\lim_{n\to\infty}f_n(x)$?"

It's pretty obvious the answer is one.

3. @ bilion : what is "dimetion" ?

@ Drexel28 : this is dealing with distributions (according to the title), so it is different than functions. I don't know if the result is different too, though

Edit : and with his edit, it makes things worse

Haha, yeah I'm going to back off of this one.I have no idea what's going on.

5. It's part of functional analysis, you should like it !
Too bad I was too lazy and busy to attend the FA class lol!
