    min/max distance problem

    g'day,

I am supposed to show that
    max(x,y) = m + d/2 with m = (x+y) / 2 and d = | y - x |

any ideas would be appreciated :-)

    cheers -
    oz.

    If y\ge x then |y-x|=y-x
    If y< x then |y-x|=x-y
