Define the operation on Z by x * y = x. Prove that * distributes over + from the right not the left.

No I was hoping somone would tell me what to look for to start answering these question. Not looking for answers just a direction.

Well compare $a*(b+c)$ with $a*b+a*c$ .
Then compare $(b+c)*a$ with $b*a+c*a$ .
