How do I find a homogeneous second order linear differential equation whose solution space has the following functions as a basis:
(a) x, xexp(x)
(b) x, ln(x)
I'm having trouble with these. I'm used to the form (x^k)*exp(zx) where z is the real root and k is the multiplicity.
Can anybody show me what to do here?
Thanks in advance.
