    Guiding center - Math questions

    Hello,

I have a few questions about math which is physics related:

    1) Is the curvature drift: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guiding_center an ODE, PDE or just an algebraic equation?

I am gonna post new questions when I get the answer for this one. Thanks.

Specifically which equation(s) are you asking about. I saw both Algebraic and partial Differential equations.

An Algebraic equation is one that does not contain neither trigonometry nor derivatives.

A Differential equation has derivatives of only one variable.

A partial Differential equation has derivatives of more than one variable.

For the curvature drift, this one:

On the first look, it can be just algebraic equation. But then on wikipedia it's written that it decomposes.

So, what kind of equation is this one, as a whole (with all terms written inside)?
Can I solve it with Matlab?

    Thanks.
