1. Exponantial Equation question

Hello everyone,
I have a question that I faced with while working on an mining issue.
I got an equation like : y =ae^bx and I should make it like y = λe^λx.
so in first equation a and b is more likely not equal but I should make them equal to make my anylisis more appropriate so it should be like second formula.
thanks for future.

Hey mehmet.

What kind of problem are you trying to solve?

3. Re: Exponantial Equation question

hi chiro,
I get the first equation from a data set and I am tring to transform this distirbution to pdf and cdf.

4. Re: Exponantial Equation question

With $\displaystyle y= ae^{bx}$, let c= a/b. Then $\displaystyle y/c=(a/c)e^{bx}= a(b/a)e^{bx}= be^{bx}$ which is $\displaystyle y'= be^{bx}$ with $\displaystyle y'= y/c= by/a$

Thank you for your help HallsofIvy but I don't understand derivative part. Which value of derivative was taken. Is it d/da operation?
