Please Help on Inverse Operators; Differential Equation !!!

Hi guys,

I have an exam tomorrow, for which I am prepared for except for the topic of inverse operator. I've been trying to learn this topic for the last few days, but I can't seem to. Can someone please explain how inverse operators work?

Also, could someone solve and explain to me in detail how to solve the following using inverse operator method: 4y'' - 3y' + 9y = 5x^2

Thank you for all the help in advance!

Re: Please Help on Inverse Operators; Differential Equation !!!

I'm not sure what you mean by Inverse Operators, but that DE is second order linear constant coefficient, so solve for the homogeneous equation using the Characteristic Equation, and guess a Particular Solution of the form Ax^2 + Bx + C and solve using variation of parameters.

Re: Please Help on Inverse Operators; Differential Equation !!!

Sorry, ill be more specific. Inverse operator as in Inverse Differential Operator. Such as: http://mathhelpforum.com/differentia...operators.html

I tried figuring out that thread, but no luck :(

Re: Please Help on Inverse Operators; Differential Equation !!!

I understand and can do all other methods for 2nd order ODE's. Its just method of inverse differential operator.
