    How do I isolate the x?

    \displaystyle \Rightarrow b - x = a e^{k(b-a)t} - x e^{k(b-a)t}. Group the terms with x together and take x out as a common factor. Then make x the subject. If you're doing this sort of question, it's assumed you can do the basic algebra ....
