Thread: Logistic Equation

My text defines the logistic equation as dP/dt = P(r - (r/K)P)
P(t) is population as a function of time

r is a real number
K is a real number representing the carrying capacity of the population

the text says NOTHING about what r represents


so what does r represent(question mark) somebody decided to remap the keys on this computer...

r is the maximum rate of population growth, also called the Malthusian parameter.
