    General Solution - Homogeneous

    Could someone tell me which method you would use to find the general solution of:

    x^2(dy/dx) = y^2 + 3xy + x^2

    Divide both sides by x^2. Now make the substitution y = xv. Note that y = xv => dy/dx = v + x dv/dx.

    Solve for v and hence y.

    This technique will be in your class notes or textbook.
