    Find the general solution and if it has a 2-2 distribution

    Show that if y is a solution of y'''' +py = 0 and p>0 and F(y) = y y''' -y'y'', then F'(y) < = (less than ot equal to) 0. Find the gerneral solution of y'''' + y = 0 and desribe the behavior of its solutions. Can a solution of this DE have a 2-2 distribution of zeros???

    To find the general solution do i need to make a characteric equation to find the general equation????

    Yes, that would be the obvious thing to do.

    For the first question, just go ahead and differentiate F= y y'''- y'y'' using the product rule.
