    wave equation solutions y(x,t)=Asin(kx-wt) and u=f(x+ct)+g(x-ct)

    Can someone show how the solutions to the wave equation
    y(x,t)=Asin(kx-wt) and u=f(x+ct)+g(x-ct) are derived and how these two solutions are equated to each other ?
