    (3x + |x|) / x

    How do i find the domain of:

    (3x + |x|) / x

    Also, what kind of function is this? To the best of my abilities, I identify this as some kind of mix of a rational and absolute value functions, however, I have no idea what to do with this.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

    domain is all real numbers except 0, because division by 0 is undefined.

    you're right about a "mixed" function ... y = 3 + \frac{|x|}{x}
