Parametrization for part of a parabola.

Parametrization...

Find a parametrization for the right half of the parabola, y = x^2 + 6x - 7

I went to my book for an explanation, but couldn't seem to find a lot of help, would anyone mind explaining it to me?

the vertex occurs when $x = \frac {-6}{2} = -3$

so we can parametrize the parabola as $x = x$ , $y = x^2 + 6x - 7$ for $x > -3$
