Help determining the position of the centroid
The profile of a fan blade is defined by the equation:

y= 0.3 sin x for 0 <_ x <_ pie/2

Sketch the profile and determine the position of the centroid of the profile?

I have sketched the profile, however the text books are a bit thin on this subject matter!

Any help would be appreciated.

The centroid of a region $\displaystyle R$ is:

$\displaystyle {\bf{X}}_c= \frac{\int_R {\bf{x}} d{\bf{x}} }{\int_R d{\bf{x}}}$

The integral in the denominator is the area of the region $\displaystyle R$
