# Thread: Find the point on the line, closest to a point

1. ## Find the point on the line, closest to a point

Hi All,

Could anyone lead me in the right direction with this problem? I feel it's been poorly explained from class.

Code:
Find the point on the line -5x + 3y - 1 = 0, which is closest to the point (3,2).
Any help is appreciated!

Thank you

Find the point of intersection of the line $(y-2)=\frac{-3}{5} (x-3)$ with your line.
