1. polar coordinates

Hello

i have attached my question as well as the answer to it

i have been asked to sketch this polar graph. This is from an past exam paper hence i would sketch it by hand. Although for the purpose of the answer the graph was created on computer.

from notes i now that the graph is a spiral.

However in the marking scheme you must show where the curve crosses the axis. And i don't know how to find out from the equation where the curve crosses the axis

I was wondering if someone could tell how i can work it out

thanks

"axis" or "axes"? The curve crosses the x-axis whenever $\theta$ is a multiple of $\pi$. It crosses the y-axis whenever $\theta$ is an odd multiple of $\pi/2$. Do you see why?

3. could u explain this further please. Maybe give me some examples of some values in my case

thanks
