    Archimedes General Parabola Proof

    The area of a parabolic arch is equal to the product of the base and the height.

    I need to prove the formula for the general parabola f(x)=c^2-a^2x^2

    Thanks

    What is the base?

    What is the height?

    The area of the arch is:

     <br />
A(a,c)=\int_{x=x_1}^{x_2} f(x)\ dx<br />

    where x_1 and x_2 are the roots of f(x)=0

    Now show us what you have tried and where you are having difficulties.
