Archimedes General Parabola Proof

The area of a parabolic arch is equal to http://www.mathhelpforum.com/math-he...3e1b7675-1.gif the product of the base and the height.

I need to prove the formula for the general parabola $f(x)=c^2-a^2x^2$

What is the base?

What is the height?

The area of the arch is:

$<br /> A(a,c)=\int_{x=x_1}^{x_2} f(x)\ dx<br />$

where $x_1$ and $x_2$ are the roots of $f(x)=0$
