    sin 3pi/4

    the answer is sqrt2/2...but how is that?

    sin 3pi/4 is referencing sin 45 in the 2nd quadrant...so shouldnt the answer be 1/sqrt2?......im using specials triangles btw..

    \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} = \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \times \frac{\sqrt{2}}{\sqrt{2}} = \frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}

    They are the same thing!
