# Thread: How would i solve this (integration i think)

1. ## How would i solve this (integration i think)

Find the equation of the curve for which y''= 10 if the curve is tangent to the line y = 13x at (2, 26).

like give me the steps on how to solve it ...
i think im suppose to

1. integrate y''= 10 and get y = 5 x ^2 +c

2. sub in (2,26) and solve for c and get c = 6

i dont really know what to do after this ... i missed the lecture on it and my test is on the monday and theres no one i can really ask for help

Hi

Integrating y"=10 gives y'=10x+C, which gives y=5x²+Cx+D

You know that y(2)=26 and y'(2)=13
