problem... I am stuck in a rowboat 1 mile out in the water from the closest point on a straight shoreline of a large lake. I need to reach the town that is located 2 miles further down the shoreline. I plan on rowing to some point along the shoreline and walking the remaining distance to the town. To what point along the shoreline should I row in order to reach the destination in the least time if I can row 3 min/hr and walk 5 mi/hr?
