    [SOLVED] Series question

    The question is:

    Find a convergent geometric series with a first of 5 and a sum of 3.

    I missed the notes in class for this section, but as I go through the chapter in the book, I find myself getting lost. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi

    If the first term of the geometric series is a and the ratio is r < 1 then

    \sum_{k=0}^{+\infty} ar^k = \frac{a}{1-r}
