I just need an explanation of derivative problem

y ' = x(sec x tan x) + (sec x)1
y ' = (sec x )(1 + x tan x)


** I just don't understand how they got the second step out of the first.

Use the factoring you learned back in algebra:

. . . . .x(AB) + (B)1 = B(xA + 1)
