If y=arcsec(2x+1)

sec(y)=2x+1

Now use implicit differentiation:

[sin(y)/cos^2(y)]dy/dx=2

[sqrt(1-cos^2(y)]/cos^2(y)dy/dx=2

but cos(y)=1/(2x+1), so: ..
