
Integration word problem
I need to find the number b such that the line y=b divides the region bounded by the curves y=x^2 and y=4 evenly. I know it will be larger than 2 obviously, however I can't seem to figure out how to approach the problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

since the graph is symmetrical over the yaxis, work in quad I
determine the area, $\displaystyle A = \int_0^4 \sqrt{y} \, dy$
now, set $\displaystyle \frac{A}{2} = \int_0^b \sqrt{y} \, dy$ and solve for $\displaystyle b$.
