# Thread: Analysis question - quantifiers

1. ## Analysis question - quantifiers

There's this question:

Let $x$ be a real number.

$\forall x, x \div x = 1$

The book says it's false, and I answered true. Perhaps I am not thinking clearly, but if one were to take any real x value and divide it by itself, should it not be 1? What am I missing here? Is it notation?

2. Consider: $x = 0$

3. Wow.... How did I miss that?? lol
