Eliminate the Parameter
for x=(e^t) -1 y=e^2t

Is this a case of using natural logs to find t and substitute it into one of the equations?

It's not really necessary. From the first

$e^t = x+1$

the second

$y = e^{2t} = \left(e^t \right)^2 = (x+1)^2$
