    dirac delta function

    prove
    δ[(x-a)(x-b)]=1/|a-b|

    where δ is Dirac delta fuction i need details
    can some one help????

    I think that \delta (f(x)) = \sum_k \frac{\delta (x-x_k)}{f'(x_k)} where x_k are the roots.

    ok i used it but it does not work with me
    i raised to this:
    [δ(x-a)+δ(x-b)]/(a-b)

    bbut i dont konw what then
