    Differentiation problems

    If x=cos \theta + \theta sin \theta , y = sin \theta - \theta cos \theta , then show that

    \frac{dy}{dx} = tan \theta .

    Also find \frac{d^2 y}{dx^2}.

    Dear varunnayudu,

    one trick: \frac{5}{3} = \frac{5/10}{3/10}
    similar
    \frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{dy/dt}{dx/dt}
    (t is meaning theta now)

    \frac{dy}{dx}=\frac{dy}{d\theta} \cdot \frac{d \theta}{dx}

    Also find \frac{d^2 y}{dx^2}.
    \frac{d^2y}{dx^2}=\frac{d}{dx} \left(\frac{dy}{dx}\right)

    =\frac{d \theta}{dx} \cdot \frac{d}{d\theta} (\tan \theta)
