Evaluate the Series
I was out of town when the prof went over how to do this in the calculator. I understand the actual basics of it. However, I'm not sure how to enter it in the calculator to get the answer. Any help would be super helpful! Thank you in advance.

omg... I cannot figure out this LaTeX thing.... I've tried about 200 times to get the programming language right :( :( (Headbang)

It's a little 5 over the big, funky E thing. Under that is i=1. Then to the right of that is (3i+2) and it says "Evaluate the Series."

I have a Ti-82.

Any help would be so much appreciated that I think I'll owe you a Twinkie or something :D Please help this suddenly brainless chica.

It shouldn't be much of a difference from the TI-83/83+

To evaluate $\sum_{i=1}^{5}3i+1$ (to generate this image, use $$\sum_{i=1}^{5}3i+1$$), try:

Code:

sum(seq(3x+1,x,1,5))
Note here that I replaced "i" with "x". It shouldn't make any difference.

Well, that didn't work... I get an Error message. Any idea on how to correct it? (Crying)
